We all love our Pora Pals, so what could be better than to make your very own Pora Pal?

What you need:

  • A balloon – for the face
  • Black permanent marker – for the eyes
  • Some wrapping paper – any colour you like!
  • Sellotape
  • Scissors – please ask an adult to assist you.
  • Glue (if you haven’t got any, just use sellotape)
  • Rubber band
  • Red permanent marker (or you could use red paper) – for the mouth
  • Paper the same colour as your balloon (for part of the ears)

1) Blow up your balloon! Don’t blow it up so much that it pops! Tie the end with a knot to stop the air escaping.

2) Using scissors (ask an adult to help) cut a piece of wrapping paper. You can use any colour or pattern you like! We’ve chosen a bright green. Make sure your piece of wrapping paper is big enough to fit around your balloon, and longer than your balloon so that you can create a ‘spike’ at the end of your Pora Pal’s head.

3) Using scissors again ask an adult to help, cut little spikes along your wrapping paper. Make sure you cut the spikes along the width (the bit that goes around the balloon) and not the length (the bit that will make the spike)

4) Stick down one end of the wrapping paper onto the balloon. Make sure that you leave enough room for your Pora Pal to have a face!

5) Wrap the paper round the balloon and stick together using Sellotape.

6) Using the rubber band, scrunch the end of the wrapping paper together to create a spike, and tie the band around the end to keep it secure.

7) Using glue (or tape) stick the spikes around your Pora Pal’s face down, and using your black permanent marker add two eyes.
8) Either with a red permanent marker or some red paper cut out into a smile shape, add the mouth. We taped ours on, but you can also glue it.
9) Using the same wrapping paper you used for your Pora Pal, cut out 2 ear shapes (ask an adult). Then using another colour – we used pink, cut out a smaller ear shape. Stick the smaller shape over the bigger ear shape.
10) Tape your Pora Pal ears onto your Pora Pal and VOILA! You are finished!
Where will your little Nipper end up?
We’d love to see how your little Nippers come out! Why not email a picture of them into Pora Ora – help@poraora.com.
Remember to tell us your username on Pora Ora and we’ll send you a little reward in the game. We’ll also put your picture up on our blog!
Have fun!
